Melissa Morton passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday June 11, 2022. She had a huge passion for Great Danes, such as her dog Lila. She and her husband Bob have been very dedicated to their animals and to GDCGKC Rescue, having adopted her first Great Dane rescue more than 10 years ago. Melissa was born in Indianapolis, IN, attended Johnson County Community College and Kansas State University, was a Kansas City Chiefs Chiefette, and was happily married to Bob for 43 years. She is also survived by her mother Vermont Weir Donham, daughter Amy Morton Hsu, son Jon Morton, granddaughter Josephine Margaret Hsu, and Great Dane Lila Morton.

FLASH 5/31/13 – 5/28/17
Sandy Ewing lost her wonderful, beautiful Flash. He loved life and was always the star anywhere they went. He had recently earned another obedience title and had been running and playing with Ember. Thursday he quit eating, On 5/26/17 he was diagnosed with a bacterial infection and was placed on antibiotics. On 5/28/17 at about 4:00 am, he died on the way to the emergency vet clinic.
